Celebrating Excellence Through Achievement and Mentorship

We proudly partner with the PAGE STAR Student Program to recognize academic excellence among local high-school seniors. Each year, we help highlight the achievement of the top-performing student and the teacher who inspired them most.

Although the STAR Program is not a traditional Lions Club initiative, our Canton Lions Club participates annually because it aligns deeply with our mission of supporting youth and education. Each year, the highest-scoring senior in the school system is selected based on SAT performance and class standing. That student chooses a STAR Teacher — someone who made a lasting impact on their academic journey — and together they are honored at a community presentation supported by our club.

By participating in this program, we help celebrate academic achievement, support local schools, and encourage students to lead with purpose and service. It’s also a meaningful opportunity for our club to connect with families, educators, and future leaders while reinforcing the importance of academic dedication and mentorship.
