Peace Poster

Inspiring Youth Through Art and Peace

Every year, the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster Contest gives local students the opportunity to express their ideas of peace through creative artwork. At the Alpharetta Lions Club / Canton Lions Club, we sponsor this contest as a way to engage young people in our community and promote a message of unity and understanding.

Each autumn, our club works with area schools and youth groups to invite children ages 11–13 to participate in the contest. Interested students receive an official Peace Poster kit from Lions, which includes contest rules and materials. The children create original posters — using media like paint, pencil, or charcoal — based on the annual theme (for 2025–2026 it’s “Together As One”) that captures their vision of peace.

Once posters are submitted to our club, we organize local judging to select a club-level winner. That winning poster is then forwarded through the district and multiple-district levels for the chance to advance to the international contest.

Through this contest, we give young artists a platform for creative expression and global connection; their voices become part of an international movement promoting peace and mutual respect across cultures. At the same time, the contest helps our club build meaningful ties with schools and families, fosters youth engagement, and raises awareness of our commitment to service and community values.
